A Process of Heavy Fabrication & Quality Assurance
Step 1: Design Submitted
The project began with our team working from a highly detailed set of engineering drawings provided by the client. For critical infrastructure in the Oil & Gas sector, these plans are the absolute source of truth. Our role was to meticulously interpret every specification, from material grades to complex weld details, to ensure our fabrication strategy would achieve 100% compliance.
Step 2: Fabrication & Welding
This stage involved the transformation of heavy-grade structural steel and plate into the core components of the 60-tonne skid. Our certified tradespeople performed the complex assembly, a process defined by the structural welding of massive components designed to handle extreme operational loads. Using advanced, high-amperage welding techniques, our team created immensely strong, full-penetration welds essential for the skid’s long-term integrity.
Step 3: Quality Control & Inspection
A key requirement for this project was a successful dry fit. Before dispatch, our team conducted a full trial assembly of the skid and crossover platform in our workshop. This critical quality control step allowed us to verify every connection and ensure perfect alignment between the massive components, mitigating risks and guaranteeing a seamless and rapid installation for the client’s crew on-site.
Step 4: Project Handover & Supply
With the successful dry fit complete, our work concluded with the professional handover of the project. Our team carefully disassembled the structure, meticulously marking each component for efficient re-assembly. We then marshalled the entire 60-tonne package, ensuring it was complete and ready for dispatch to the Surat Basin, providing the client with expertly fabricated steel ready for the final stages of their project.
